STUDY PROVES B STRONG TRAINING TO BE EFFECTIVE
PILOT PROJECT
1st Reconnaissance Battalion volunteered to add 20 B Strong workouts to their normal routine over a four-week period. A detailed four-week workout plan was distributed to the volunteers. Performance and body composition testing was conducted in the days before and three or four days after the four-week workout period.
TESTING PROTOCOLS
Testing included 1 rep maximal squat lift, number of pull-ups, a timed 880 yd road run (Maneuver to Contact), number of 30 lbs. Ammunition Can Lifts in 2 minutes and a timed standard Maneuver under Fire. In addition, body composition was determined from height, weight, 7 skinfolds and various body girths.
RESULTS POST 4-WEEK B STRONG BFR TRAINING
The Marines improved strength by 10% and increased muscle by 5%. Body Composition improved by an 8% decrease in subcutaneous fat and a 5% increase in lean body mass (LBM) (see graphic above).

HOW BFR TRAINING WORKS
